George A. Heinen, 83, of Seneca, KS, died June 16, 1996, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. He was transferred from Crestview Manor Care Home in Seneca, where he had been a resident since December, 1990.

He was born December 21, 1912, on a farm east of Kelly, KS, the son of John and Anna Schurman Heinen. He attended St. Bede's School in Kelly.

He farmed the family farm for a number of years. Later he worked for the State of Kansas in the Road Maintenance Department at Lancaster, KS. In 1967, he began work at the Campbell Soup Company in Tecumseh, NE, until he retired in 1977. In 1980, he moved to Seneca.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church at Seneca and the St. Joseph Society at the church. He was a former member of St. Bede's Church in Kelly.

He is survived by a brother, Raymond Heinen, Goff, KS; sisters, Catherine Sextro, Seneca, KS; Susanna Huerter, Seneca, KS; and Marie Conley, Centralia, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry Heinen, Allie Heinen, Joseph Heinen, Edward Heinen, Jacob Heinen; Leonard Heinen; sistrs Amelia Wilhelm, Elizabeth Wilhelm, and Agnes Wilhelm.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Seneca. Burial was in St. Bede's Catholic Cemetery, Kelly, KS.
