Mrs. Mary Hellmer was born in Monroe County in 1874. Her siblings include Louis Mueller of Wellington, Kans., Ed Mueller of Dupo, and Mrs. Bertha Brown of St. Louis. Three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

She married George Hellmer in 1897. He died in 1953. Their children include Arthur Hellmer and Mrs. Martin Gannon of Jacob, and Miss Alice Hellmer of St. Louis.

She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church at Raddle, the St. Ann's Altar Society, and the Royal Neighbors of America Jones Ridge Chapter 8743.

Mrs. Hellmer died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Gannon, in Jacob.
