Joseph Nick Kisner, 83, Wellington, Colo., formerly of Hays, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Fort Collins Health Care, Fort Collins, Colo. He was born April 3, 1923, in Hays to Alex and Pauline (Schwalyer) Kisner.

He married Bernita Dreiling on Oct. 1, 1946, in Hays. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1993.

He attended school in Hays and moved to Fort Collins in 1951. He retired from Holcim after 26 years as a quarry truck driver. He was also a farmer in the Wellington area for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. He loved to polka dance.

Survivors include his companion, Margaret Moon; four sons, Damian "Dan" Kisner, Dalles, Ore., Joseph P. Kisner and Robert D. Kisner, both of Wellington, and Richard L. Kisner, Portland, Ore.; four daughters, Patricia McNutt, Angora, Neb., Nadine Dake, LaPorte, Colo., Chris Mulder, Yuma, Ariz., and Beverly Barrow, Milliken, CO; sister, Pauline Herl; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Stanley Kisner, Andy Kisner and Brian Kisner; and three grandsons, Jeffrey Dake, Kenneth Dake, and Robert Kisner, Jr.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Collins; burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fort Collins. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Allnutt Riverside Chapel, 1530 Riverside Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80524. There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to donor's choice in care of funeral home.
