MERL C. SCHWALBE (d. 1974)

Merl C. Schwalbe, 71, of 1310 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died early Saturday
morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a coronary attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. N.W. Kock will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Schwalbe was born May 13, 1903, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late
August and Josephine Kautzer Schwalbe. He was a Manitowoc County resident
all his life. He married Alice Popp May 29, 1937, at St. Joseph Church,
Silver Lake. Prior to his retirement three years ago, he had been employed
as a truck driver for Alfred Muchin Co. of Manitowoc for 45 years.
Survivors include his wife, two brothers, Fred and Kermit, of Manitowoc and
nieces and nephews. An infant son, two brothers and a sister preceded him
in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday until 11:30
a.m. Monday and from noon at the church when the casket will be moved to the
church where the body will lie in state until the time of service.
