AUGUST J. SCHWALBE (d. 1958)
August J. Schwalbe (above) of 1412 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday
at home of a heart attack. He was 85.
Funeral services will be at 3..(line underinked, unreadable) Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. ___ Koeninger officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Schwalbe was born Nov. 15, 187 , in Town of Eaton, son of the late Frederick
and Amelia Zutz Schwalbe. In 1898, he married the former Josephine Kautzer and
the couple operated a farm in the town of Eaton until moving to Manitowoc in 1929.
He was employed by the City of Manitowoc, retiring in 1949. His wife preceded him
in death in 1952.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Walter Gottschalk of Manitowoc; five sons, Ruben,
Rene, Merl, Fred and Kermit of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Nora Mattes of New
Holstein; eight grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Wednesday and after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
