Anthony B. "Tony" Loxterkamp, a resident of Swanville, died March 18, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services were held March 22, 2006 at St. John's Catholic Church in Swanville with Father Arlie Sowada officiating. Burial was in St. John's parish cemetery in Swanville, Minn.

Anthony Loxterkamp was born on May 21, 1924, in Getty township near Meire Grove, Stearns County, Minnesota to the late George and Mary (Kampsen) Loxterkamp. He was united in marriage to Louise Hiltner on April 6, 1948, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich.

Tony was a member of the American Legion and VFW of Swanville. He and Louise started farming in 1948 on a farm one half mile south of Swanville, while raising their 11 children. In 1997 they retired and moved into Swanville.

Tony was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and a life member of the Swanville Lions. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Huckley Buck, coffee, and playing 6-5-4 at Granny's Café.

Survivors include his wife Louise Loxterkamp of Swanville; sons, Duane of Swanville, John of Swanville, Marvin of Minneapolis, Alan of Swanville, Gary of Swanville, James (special friend Stacey) of Swanville and Michael (Janice) of Swanville; daughters, Kathleen (Gerald) Zyvoloski of Sobieski, Lois (John) Blais of St. Michael, Debra (Mark) Sieben of Swanville and Michelle (Anthony II) Notermann of Shakopee; brother Raymond (Ermina) Loxtercamp of Lake Henry; sisters, Sr. Georgetta Loxterkamp, OSB of St Paul's Priory, Beata Frieler of Greenwald and Rose Uphoff of Greenwald; 31 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George (1965) and Mary Loxterkamp (1978); brothers, Herman Loxterkamp, Bernard, Alois, Joseph, Henry, Fred, Leo, and Otto Loxtercamp and grandson, Darin Loxterkamp.

Honorary casketbearers were the Swanville Legion and Swanville VFW members. Active casketbearers were Gregg Zyvoloski, Derek Loxterkamp, Brandon Blais, Gabe Loxterkamp, Justin Sieben and Scott Johnson.
