Former Resident Succumb George Westendorf

George Westendorf, 79, died at 12:15 p. m. Saturday, April 14th, at his home 807 West Fifth St, Marion, Indiana. He died of a heart condition and complications wihile sitting in a chair in his bedroom.

Mr. Westendorf moved to Marion, Indiana, in1930 and worked for the Canton Glass Company, in Marion, but retired about seven years ago. He was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church and the Holy name Society of the Church.

Funeral services were held at 9 a. m. Tuesday at the Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Msgr. John McCarthy conducting the rite. The body was taken to 710 West Third street, where the Holy name Society met at 8 p. m. [Monday evening and said the Rosary.

Survivors in addition to the widow, Anna, include: Mrs Viola Hallet, Gary, Indiana, Mrs Alfred Beck, Mrs John Pfenning and Mrs William Yohler, all of Marion, Indiana; four sons, Walter, Gary, Indiana, Arthur, Newton, Illinois, and Cyril and Elias, both of Marion, Indiana; 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Anna Dust of Dieterich, Ill, Mrs Minnie Pruemer of Teutopolis, OGH, Mrs Mary Verdyne; two brothers, Herman of Dieterich, Ill, and August of Iowa.
