Carl N. Langenbach, prominent citizen of La Crosse and a well known former Mayville boy, died suddenly of heart failure at his home in La Crosse at 11:30 A. M. on Saturday.

Carl was born in Theresa on Nov. 25, 1867, the son of John and Mary Langenbach, residents of this city, both of whom are now deceased.

After attending the Mayville public schools, Carl was engaged as a traveling salesman by the Geo. Ziegler Candy Co. of Milwaukee, until the boom at Superior in the early 90's caused him to remove to that lake city where he conducted a mercantile establishment.

In 1896 he was urged to accept a position with the Geo. Heileman Drug Co. of La Crosse and was its Vice-President and Treasurer at the time of his death.

He married Miss Ida Heileman in 1900, who, with one son, Emmet, and his sisters, Mrs. Aug. Ruedebusch, Mrs. L. S. Keeley, and Mrs. E. Sauerhering, all of Mayville, and his brothers Alfred W. of La Crosse, Robert J. of Mayville and Armand G. of West Bend survive to mourn his untimely death.

The funeral services were held yesterday morning at St. Joseph's Cathedral with interment at Oak Grove cemetery at La Crosse, the Rev. Pape officiated.

Mrs. Burke Gagen of Milwaukee, E. A. Kremer, state deputy of the Knights of Columbus and W. H. Rueping and son Willard of Fond du Lac, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Keeley, Mrs. Eugenia Sauerhering, Mrs. Isabel Lamoreux, R. J. Langenbach and B. J. Husting, all of Mayville, and A. G. Langenbach of West Bend, drove to La Crosse to attend the last rites accorded to the deceased.
