Mrs. S. H. Pfaff, 71, died Sunday, 9:30 a. m., of a heart condition in Waseca Memorial hospital. She had been in ill health for the past several years. Lydia E. Maher was born Dec. 12, 1882, in Woodville township, Waseca county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Sophie Mahler. She attended the Waseca schools. On March 18, 1907 her marriage to Samuel H. Pfaff took place in the Congregational church, Waseca. Mrs. Pfaff was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband, S. H. Pfaff, and one son, George Pfaff, both of Waseca; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Koechel, Waseca; Louise Mahler, Minneapolis, and Freda Mahler, Madison, S. D., and one brother, Wesley Mahler of Winnebago. Three grandchildren also survive, James Curran, Cynthia and Sammy Pfaff. Preceding her in death were her parents, and a daughter Hazel, Mrs. M. Curran, who died as the result of an auto accident a year ago last September. The funeral will be held today, (Tuesday), at the Pfaff Funeral Home, 2 p. m., with the Rev. Emrys P. Thomas of the Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodville cemetery. Pall bearers are Russell Koechel and Richard Mahler, Minneapolis; Donald Mahler, Faribault; James Mahler, Winnebago; Wm. Korfhage, St. Paul, and George Mahler, Waseca, all nephews of the deceased.
