He moved to the Culbertson community in 1926 and was united in marriage to Caroline Frick on March 8, 1934. Willard farmed in the Culbertson community all of his life. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin and Harlan.
Survivors include his widow, Caroline, Culbertson; one daughter, Mrs. Karen Sailors, McCook; three grandsons, Terry Lee Sailors, Michael Lynn Sailors, and James Leon Sailors, McCook. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Henry Rippen, Culbertson; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Brown and Mrs. D.W. Fassler; three brothers, Alfred, Leland, and Gordon, all of Culbertson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, 1970 in the Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eldo N. Kirkus officiating. Interment was in the Culbertson Cemetery.
