She was born December 10, 1911 at Kramer to Henry and Carrie (Schneider) Rippen. She attended school at Lancaster County, District No. 141 at Kramer. She was confirmed at the Hallam Congregational Church in April 1926 and moved to Culbertson in May 1926.
On February 22, 1933 she married Donald W. "Bud" Fassler at Oberlin.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; a 50-year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary; the Culbertson Project Club; and the Help-A-Lot Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, in 1971; a son-in-law, Robert Jumps in 1992; and four brothers, Irvin, Willard, Alfred, and Harlan.
Survivors include her son, Kim and wife, Carla Fassler of Culbertson; daughter, Janeice Jumps, also of Culbertson; two brothers, Gordon and wife, Frary Rippen; Leland Rippen, all of Culbertson; one sister, Blanch Brown, also of Culbertson, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Don Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made in her name and left at the funeral home. Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
