George Wamboldt, 88, of 1605 Ave. J died Sept. 18, 1994, at a Gering health care center. A service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Chapel in Scottsbluff with the Rev. Rich Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. He was born July 12, 1906, in Dietel, Russia, to Henry and Eva (Mill) Wamboldt. In 1907, at the age of 6 months, he came to the United States with his family to Sugar City, Colo. He later lived in Fort Collins, Colo., and on May 15, 1925, he married Mollie Herman in Gering. They farmed in Nebraska and South Dakota and later in the Scottsbluff and Huntley, Wyo. areas. He retired in the spring of 1971 and lived in Scottsbluff since. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, three sisters and two grandsons.
