F. W. Carlstrom, well known farmer of the Urness-Moe vicinity, was laid to rest Sunday afternoon, following his death a few days previously.

Frans William Carlstrom was born April 29, 1900, in Urness township and passed away early Wednesday morning, May 19th, after a lingering illness, at the age of 48 years. Mr. Carlstrom had been a life long resident of Douglas county and grew up on his parents farm in Urness township. He attended school in District 45 and was baptized and confirmed at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran church in Moe township. On July 10th, 1928, he was united in marriage to Rosie Sacarias. They farmed in Urness township until 1943, when they moved to Moe township, which was since their residence. Seven children were born to this union, all of whom, besides his wife, survive. The seven children are Harriet (Mrs. Herbert Johnson) of Urness township, Dorothy, Florence, Harold, Grace, Jane and Verl, all at home. Surviving also are five sisters: Mrs. Carl Lander, Moe; Mrs. Phil Wilkens, Moe; Mrs. Hjalmer Maatta, Sebeka; Mrs. John Haabala, Moe; and Mrs. Wayne Lido of Minneapolis.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 22nd, at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran church in Moe township at 2 p.m., Rev. Samuel Kovala of Sebeka conducting, assisted by Rev. E. O. Valberg of Holmes City. Pallbearers were: Howard Larson, Walmer Lander, Edwin Lander, Clifford Haabala, Clarence Haabala and Raymond Haabala. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
