Harriet Lucille Johnson, 78, died April 2, 2006 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. Harriet was born May 25, 1927 in rural Brandon to Rose Emelia (Sacarias) and Frans William Carlstrom. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. Harriet attended school at District 45 through the 8th grade and high school in Kensington. Harriet married Herbert Johnson on March 8, 1945. They were blessed with three children. The family farmed near Brandon and Kensington, Urness Township, until 1966 and then moved to Racine, Wisconsin until 1979 when they retired and moved back to Brandon. Harriet worked as a nurse's aide for many years. Harriet was a long-time member of West Moe Lutheran Church where she served on the church board, ELCW secretary, Sunday School teacher and a 4-H leader. Harriet enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. She especially enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends.

Harriet is survived by her children, Dennis (DiAnn) Johnson of Anoka, Carol (Darrell) Davidson of Benson, Donald Johnson of Racine, WI; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Dorothy (Curtis) Halvorson of West Fargo, ND, Harold (Carolyn) Carlstom of Garfield, Grace (Marland) Madson of Northfield and Verl (Carol) Carlstrom of Eau Claire, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert, sisters: Florence Rosenow and Jane Connor; daughter-in-law, Lavonne Johnson.

A funeral service was held April 6 at West Moe Lutheran Church in rural Brandon with the Rev. Don Clifford officiating. Interment was at West Moe Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were John Madson, Douglas Carlstrom, Daniel Connor, Thomas Rosenow, Frans Carlstrom and Gary Eddy. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
