Mrs. Bertha Muench Summoned By Death
Mrs. Bertha Alexander Muench, 79, a resident of Lewiston for 70 years, died yesterday morning at 4:30 at Riverview rest home, Clarkston, where she had been a patient since March 8. Death was due to infirmities of age. Mrs. Muench had been in ill health for several years and her condition grew worse after the death of her son, Arthur Millar, Lewiston, Feb. 11.
She was born at St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 27, 1878, the daughter of Amelia and Michael Alexander. She was the niece of Joe Alexander, pioneer Lewiston merchant. Mrs. Muench lived at 512 5th Ave., in one of the first homes erected on Normal hill.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Stevens, Spokane; one son, Lawrence Millar, Spokane; two grandsons, Victor Millar, Lewiston, and Russell Millar, Spokane; one granddaughter, Carol Rossiter, Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Caroline Alexander and Mrs. Ray Bowerman, Long Beach, Calif.; and four brothers, Sam, Senter and Max, Seattle; and Victor, Sunnyside, Wash.
The body is at Brower-Wann funeral home, with arrangements pending.
