Aaron Abel Wagner was the son of Henry and Susannah (Abel) Wagner.

He married Margaret Heidy on 03 Feb 1857 in Carroll Co., OH. They had at least 6 children:

- Nancy Ann Wagner Kintner (1857-1939); married Isaac Newton Kintner 1882
- Emma Jane Wagner Ebersole (1860-1936); married Thomas J. Ebersole 1921
- Ulysses S. Grant Wagner (1862-1935); married Laura M. Seaton 1901
- William S. Wagner (1865-1876)
- Isaac Bird Wagner (1875-1933); married Laura D. Hagerman 1897
- Frank Gabriel Wagner (1877-1958); married Stella Mary Seaton 1902

Margaret died in 1890, and Aaron was remarried 07 Dec 1892 in Carroll Co., OH to Barbara Etta (Poole) Harsh.

Dr. Aaron A. Wagner, one of Carroll County's oldest citizens, died yesterday evening about 7 o'clock in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Kintner. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the home of his son, Prof. I. B. Wagner. Those who wish to do so can view the remains at the home of Prof. Wagner between the hours of 7 and 10 this evening. The funeral services will be in charge of his pastor, Rev. E. G. Klotz of the Reformed church.

Dr. Wagner was born in Union Township December 9, 1831, and was 92 years of age. He was a son of Henry and Susanna (Able) Wagner, and was the last of a family of 14 children. He was married to Margaret Heidy in 1856, who died in 1890. To this union the following children survive; Mrs. Kintner, Mrs. Jeff Ebersole, of Cleveland, Grant, I. B. and Frank of Carrollton. He was again married about 30 years ago to Barbara Harsh, who died some few months ago in Cleveland in the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. Ebersole. Dr. Wagner lived his entire life in Union Township and Carrollton.

During his early life he followed the trade of a blacksmith, but in later life took up the profession of dentistry and for several years was associated in business with Dr. R. A. Dunlap. He has been in good health up until a very short time ago. He was a great reader and even at his advanced age, could read without glasses. His mind was clear and he was possessed of all his faculties.
