His obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, September 2, 1920. Francis Marion Wagner, who had been suffering from dropsy, died Sunday in his home. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by his pastor, Rev. G. H. Souder, of the Reformed Church. Mr. Wagner was born February 14, 1849, in Union Twp, a son of Henry and Susan (Abel) Wagner. He was one of a family of fourteen children, two of whom are living; Aaron Wagner, of Carrollton, and Gabriel Wagner, of Perry Twp. He was married October 13, 1872, to Sarah Hess, who survives along with the following children; Mrs. Elmer Slates, of Carrollton; M. M. Wagner of Scio; Harry S. Wagner, E. R. Wagner, Mrs. Charles Shultz, all of Carrollton. There are ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Wagner was a veterinarian, and he moved about 16 years ago from a farm two miles east of Carrollton to town.
