Mother: 22294099
His obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, April 13, 1894.
We were very much surprised Monday evening to hear of the sudden death of Isaac Wagner, the carpenter and contractor. He was coming to town with Sylvester Tripp, and when near the home of Mr. Moody he suddenly expired. The body was taken into Mr. Moody's for a brief time and aid summoned and friends notified, but it was only too painfully true that the vital spark had fled. Mr. Wagner was engaged in building a residence for Dr. Lyle in Scio and was coming to Carrollton in order to go to Canton the next morning to meet Dr. Lyle to confer about making some purchases.
Mr. Wagner owned a nice farm in Perry Township, but also took contracts in carpenter work. He was a fine mechanic and never slighted his work. Men who employed him once were apt to employ him again if they needed work none.
Deceased was one of a family of ten brothers and four sisters. He was married in 1858 to Miss Mary Ann Heidy, who survives, together with their four children--one son and three daughters. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church and regularly attended its service. The remains were laid away to rest yesterday in the Carrollton cemetery, attended by a very large concourse of friends. Rev. W. S. Cairnes officiated. Much sorrow is manifested for the sorrowing family so suddenly and greatly bereaved, and there is general regret at the death of so honest and industrious a man.
