CHARLES M. KOEGEL, 68, of Peck Road, Town of Van Buren, a former mechanic for the Syracuse Transit Co., died yesterday at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Koegel resided most of his life in his native Liverpool, moving 12 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nela Moyer Koegel; a daughter, Mrs. John Ramaglino of North Syracuse; four sons, Charles A. of North Syracuse and Howard A., Ross F. and Richard G. Koegel of Syracuse; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine and Anna Koegel of Syracuse; four brothers, John of Warners, Anthony and Frederick of Syracuse and Joseph Koegel of Baldwinsville, and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Howard F. Bunes, pastor of Christ Community Methodist Church, will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Monday.
