Caroline Muehlenbruch Kobbe was born in Hanover Germany on 9 May 1812 [according to census & gravestone.] (Note: A public tree indicates that her full name was Sophie Wilhelmina Caroline Dorothea Muehlenbruch.) There is a Passenger List arrival for Caroline Mohlenbrock at New York on 01 Sep 1834 from Bremen Germany. She married Heinrich Kobbe and their first son, Henry, was born in 1840 in Ohio.
By 1860, Caroline & Henry were living in Wayne Township, Bartholomew County, IN. Caroline & Henry had eight children, Henry (b. 1840 Ohio), Caroline (b. 1843 Ohio, married John Henry Speaker), John (b. 1844 Ohio, in Harris, MO at time of Caroline's death), Thomas J (b. 1848 in Indiana), Benjamin Franklin (b. 1850 in Bartholomew Co., IN), Elizabeth (b. 1853 Barth. Co., IN, married Charles Wehmeier), Ann Elisa (married name Kauffman, in Princeton, MO at time of Caroline's death) and one other child - name unknown (from St. John's records.)
Caroline died on 24 Feb 1875, just five days after the death of her husband. Caroline is buried at St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery at White Creek. Henry's stone is not located there, but he is believed to be buried there also.
