Carl C. Friebus, 67, died Tuesday, March 12, at the Great Bend Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack at his home in Claflin. He was born December 12, 1900 in Russell County and married Emma Galliart on October 26, 1927 at Claflin [Holyrood]. They farmed near Wilson until moving to Claflin in 1959.

Survivors include the widow and one son, Paul, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Clara) Seyfert, Hunter; three grandchildren; four brothers: William, Eric and Traugott, all of Wilson, and Ted, Greeley, Colo.; and four sisters: Mrs. Agnes Tittel and Mrs. Margaret Tittel, both of Ness City; Mrs. Emma Homeier and Mrs. Tracy Galliart, both of Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church Friday, March 15, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert M. Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in the Claflin cemetery.

Friends may call at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington until 11:30 a.m. tomorrow and at the church from noon until service time. The casket will not be open after the funeral.

The family suggests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church or Claflin Emergency Wagon fund.

Casket bearers will be Elmer Stueder, Albert Soeken, Ernest Grossardt, Parvin Garrett, Maynard Hardten and George Gemeinhardt.
