JOHN CHRISTIAN FRIEBUS
John Christian Friebus was born May 19th, 1866 at Thelausa, Russia and departed from this life at his home in Russell County, Kansas Feb. 5, 1926 at the age of 59 years, 8 months, 16 days. In infancy he was baptized in the Lutheran faith to which he remained loyal until his end. In 1877 he emigrated to Cape Town South Africa where he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, November 27, 1881. In 1885 [1886] he came to this country, locating in Kansas. Three [Two] years later he was united in marriage to Anna Elizabeth Friebus, which union the Lord blessed with ten children five sons and five daughters, one of whom Annie having preceded him into eternity in 1907. He leaves to mourn, his wife, five sons, William, Erich, Carl, Theodore, and Traugott, four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Tittel, Mrs. Emma Homeier, Mrs. Tracy Galliardt, Mrs. Margaret Tittel, eighteen grandchildren, one brother Carl Friebus, Phillipsburg, Kan. one sister Mrs. Anna Schulz, Phillipsburg, Kan., and a host of friends.
Funeral services and burial were held at the Emanuel [sic] Lutheran Church southwest of Wilson February 7th, by Rev. O. Henning of Holyrood, Kan.

We wish to thank our neighbors and friends for the many acts of kindness and tender sympathy during the sickness and death of our beloved husband and father. We also thank those who remembered with floral offerings and those who tendered their services at the funeral.
