Nils was my step-great-great-grandfather. I most gratefully acknowledge the help of the Swedish-American Genealogy Group on Facebook, for locating and translating the Swedish records mentioned below.
Nils was a farmhand (Dräng) in Sweden.
In May 1853 Nils and Kari moved from Abild to Ränneslöv (Abild B:2).
The 1882 Swedish clerical household shows Karna living as a widow.
There is a Nels Johnson Tullberg who was granted a homestead in the United States (Adams County, North Dakota, on August 1, 1904). The property description is 5th principal meridian, range 160 north, 62 west, section 24, southwest quarter. But this must be a different Nils, most likely Nils Jonsson Tullberg who was born April 8, 1851 in Sweden, and died July 22, 1938 in America. Nils 1851-1938 appears to be the first in his family to take the surname Tullberg, so I don't know if the two are even related.
