David Winter
David Winter, 90, of Greeley died Thursday, Dec. 19, at Kenton Manor Living Center, Greeley.
Born March 17, 1912, in Bawilna, Russia, to Fred and Katherine (Oblander) Winter, Mr. Winter came to the United States on Nov. 14, 1912, when he was 8 months old. The family settled in Garden City, Kan., and later
moved to Windsor.
On Jan. 22, 1933, he married Lydia Jekel in Eaton. At the time of her death on Feb. 13, 1999, they had been married 66 years.
Mr. Winter farmed in the Galeton, Eaton and Lucerne areas. He was high sugar producer in 1946 and 1947. He retired in 1980 and moved to Greeley.
He enjoyed helping his son Steve on the farm.
Mr. Winter was a member of St. Paul'’s Congregational Church in Greeley.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Kent Anderson of San Antonio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jean Winter of Bay City, Mich., and Steven and Randia Winter of Greeley; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His parents, four sisters and four brothers are deceased.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Adamson Memorial West Chapel, Greeley. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.
Friends may visit from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the West Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul'’s Congregational Church in care of Adamson Memorial West Chapel, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
