She was married May 4, 1886 to Anton Gag. A daughter Antonia was born to the couple on June 13, 1887. Ida died June 21, 1887 from a fever after childbirth. The baby Antonia died July 28, 1887.
Anton, Ida & Antonia are all buried in the New Ulm Cemetery in the Pioneer Section North A Lot 188. (Anton's 2nd wife Lizzie is also buried there.)

It becomes our painful duty to chronicle the death of Mrs. Ida Gag which occurred at her home yesterday at 2 a.m. The immediate cause of her death was a fever contracted during childbirth. She was down in the bloom of youth and leaving a young husband and child. This is indeed a sad blow to the surviving members of the family. Mrs. Gag was but 22 years old at the time of her death.
