Lived in a community on the Volga River(Susannenthal) prior to immigrating to the US in 1908.

Elizabeth M Meinhardt, 78, died Monday, March 16 1942; in her home, 527 Thirteenth Street, after a long illness. She was born in Brockhousen, Russia, January 23, 1864, and came to the United States 34 years ago. She was married February 22, 1884 to Henry Meinhardt who died in January 1937.

She is survived by three sons, John and Henry Meinhardt, both of Port Huron and Fred Meinhardt, Park City, Montana; two daughters, Mrs Eleanor Smith, Port Huron, and Mrs. John Gitersonke, Detroit; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children;

Funeral services were held in St. Paul’s Lutheran church at 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 19, 1942, with Rev. Fred Schnaiible, pastor officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Smith, Alex Meinhardt, John Meinhardt Jr., John Meinhardt, John Wirtz, Alex Runk, Joseph Gustinger and Edward McGill.
