He was a foreman in Little Foundries, Inc. for 1914 to 1938. he founded the Meinhardt Battery Service here in 1932. He was a member of St. Paul's American Lutheran church.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Alex J. Meinhardt and John H. Meinhardt Jr., both of Port Huron; a daughter, Mrs. Edith McGill, Port Huron; two brothers, Henry Meinhardt, Port Huron and Fred Meinhardt Montana; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Smith, Port Huron, and Mrs. Sophia Gitersonke, East Detroit; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The remains will be in the Stewart S. Kipp funeral home until noon Monday when they will be removed to St. Paul's church, to lie in state until funeral services at 1 p.m. conducted by Rev. Daniel Mathea, pastor. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
