William (Bill) Hahn was born on August 3, 1892 at Tripp, South Dakota to Christian and Anna (Zoller) Hahn. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He attended School at Tripp, South Dakota.

On Oct. 2, 1913 he was united in marriage to Mary Walker at Tripp, S.D. This union was blessed with five children.

In 1914 they moved to a farm near Colome, where he farmed until 1954 when he retired. He lived on his farm until Sept. 1985, when he moved to Sisseton S.D.

In October 1986 he moved to the Lamro Apartments in Winner, where he resided until April 18, 1987, when he entered the Winner Nursing Home.

William passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 1987 at the Winner Nursing Home.

He is survived by one son, Ervin (Adeline) Hahn of Sisseton; and one daughter, Irene Rowe of Sioux Falls; three brothers, Emanuel, Henry and Gottlieb Hahn of Tripp, S.D; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sons, one daughter, one granddaughter, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 29, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christ Lutheran Church in Winner. Rev. Allen Pingel officiated.

Pallbearers were Mike Manthey, Derald Shippy, Duane Holden, Leonard Vobr, Stanley Kalenda and Carl Steele.

Interment was in the Winner Cemetery.
