Gottlieb Hahn was born on August 2, 1904 at Tripp, South Dakota. His parents were Christian and Anna (Zoller) Hahn. He was baptized on August 21, 1904 and confirmed on March 24, 1918 in the Zion Lutheran Church of rural Tripp.

Gottlieb married Adeline Guthmiller on December 19, 1926. They farmed Southwest of Tripp until 1986, when they moved into Tripp. He worked shelling corn and trucking for several years and owned the Hahn Antique Museum. He was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church.

Gottlieb died on Friday, March 15, 1991 at St. Benedict's Hospital in Parkston, South Dakota at the age of 86 years.

Surviving are on son, Eldon and wife, Arlene, Tripp; four grandchildren, Larry and wife, Pam, Denver, Colorado; Delilah Hahn, Sioux Falls; Kelly and wife, Renee, Moville, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Joshua, Kalley Ann,, Austin and Derek; and two brothers, Henry and Emmanuel, both of Tripp.

Gottlieb was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline, on April 28, 1988, his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
