Eleanor M. Swetlik, age 91, of 806 N. 11th St., Manitowoc, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at her residence. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. David Hoffman at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc, Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Kellnersville, Wis. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday.
Eleanor was born May 31, 1913 in Whitelaw, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Margaret Grall Braun. She married Quirin Swetlik, Sr., Jan. 5, 1932 at Whitelaw, Wis. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Jan. 5, 1982. Mr. Swetlik preceded her in death, Nov. 9, 1990. Eleanor was employed in the laundry department at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for 27 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing cards, and being with her family. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law; Leroy and Sharon, Quirin Jr. (Harold) and Janice, Dale and Lynn, all of Manitowoc, and Allen and Susan of Maynard, Mass.; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Elaine and Leroy Olson, Manitowoc, Beatrice and William Antholz, Nancy and Ronald Staudinger, Manitowoc; also 23 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son Byron, a daughter Barbara, four brothers, John, Edward, Joseph, and Frank Braun, Jr., five sisters, Clara Schuh, Margaret Zeman, Vernie Zimmer, Blanche Neuser, and Tillie Pakenham.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the Swetlik family with funeral arrangements.
