RUSKIN

Rasmus Petersen (sic) who has been in very poor health for the past several months, passed quietly away at his home in Ruskin last Friday morning, March 7th. The funeral services were held from the house and Presbyterian church (sic) on Saturday afternoon, March 8th, conducted by Rev. J.C. Carlsen. Interment was in Ruskin cemetery.

Rasmus Peterson (sic) was born in Denmark, November 7, 1846, and died March 7, 1924, age 78 years and 4 months. He came to America at the age of 27 years, residing in the state of Illinois for five years. From there he moved to Bennett, Nebraska, where he stayed for two years. Then he came to Nuckolls county (sic), where he located on the farm five miles south of Ruskin. On the 4th of February, 1881, he was married to Christine Andersen. To this union were born five sons and one daughter, Anna Marguerite, who died July 17, 1900, at the age of twelve years. Mr. Petersen (sic) lived on the farm until March 1, 1910, when he moved to Ruskin and where he has since resided. He leaves to mourn his wife, five sons and twenty-one grandchildren.
