Catherine was born in Uberhofen, Saarbrucken, Saarland, Germany to Johann Miller (Mueller) and Catharina Strempel. She immigrated to the U.S. on January 9, 1866 with her mother and siblings aboard the ship Washington.

She married Lawrence Jogerst on July 3, 1899 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. They had two known daughters, Sylvia and Grace.

Mrs. Catherine Jogerst, age 62, died this morning at 10:30 o'clock at her residence, 205 West street. She had been ill for several months. Mrs. Jogerst is survived by two daughters, the Misses Grace and Sylvia, who live at home; three sisters and three brothers. They are Mrs. Emma Huwig of Detroit; Mrs. Joseph Jerkins on Akron; Mrs. Adam Walters of Massillon, and Casper, Fred and John Miller of Massillon.
The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at St. Mary's church. Interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery.
