Margaret was born in Katholich, Kollerbach, Germany to John (Johannes) Miller (Mueller) and Catharine Strempel. Her Christening record shows her as Margaretha Mueller, born 28 November 1850, christened 29 November 1850 in Kollerbach, Puttlinger, Saarbrucken, Rhein, Prussia and parents as Joannis Mueller and Catharinae Strempel.

Margaret arrived in the U.S. on January 9, 1866 departing from Hamburg on the ship Washington with her mother and siblings.

Margaret was first married to Conrad Goldner [Gouldner] date unknown but by July 1870 census when they lived in Tuscarawas Co., OH.

She married Adam Walters Jr., on April 11, 1887 in Stark Co., OH. They had nine known children. One son, Clement, was born 19 Jul 1890 and died 29 Jul 1890 in Massillon; burial location unknown.

It should be noted the Walters surname is frequently shown as Walter.

Margaret and Adam were my great-grandparents via their daughter, Angeline, who married John Houk.

Mrs. Margaret Walter, 75, died this morning at a Canton hospital after an illness of three years. Mrs. Walter lived at the residence of her son, George Walter, 995 West Cherry street.

She is survived by two sons, George and Gilbert Walter, of Massillon; four daughters, Mrs. Ferdinand Myers, Mrs. John Switter, and Mrs. Mary Studer, of Massillon, and Mrs. William Houk of Barberton; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Jurgens of Akron, and Mrs. Clarence Huwig of Detroit, and two brothers, John Miller of Akron and Casper Miller of Detroit.

The body will be taken to the residence of George Walter, in West Cherry street, and the funeral held at St. Mary's Catholic church Saturady morning, at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery.
