SCRIBNER – Theresa M. Suhr, 81, of Scribner died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, at her home.
Theresa Liston was born Dec. 25, 1917, in rural Nickerson. She graduated from Hooper High School in 1935. She married Gerald Suhr June 21, 1939 in Hooper. She worked the laundry department at the Good Samaritan Center for about 15 years, until her retirement in 1986. She lived on the farm northwest of Scribner, until moving to town in 1972. He died June 19, 1970.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Hooper, where she was active in quilting. She was a member of Women of the Evangelical Church of America.
She also was a member of an extension club, several card clubs, and was a volunteer for many years at the Good Samaritan Center.
She served on the board of the Milligan Over 60 Center in Scribner.
Survivors include: two sons, Dale Suhr of Omaha and Glen (and wife, Carol) Suhr of Scribner; a daughter-in-law, Marge (Mrs. Bob) Pullen of Scribner; two brothers, Clayton Liston of Hooper and Frank Liston of Fremont; three sisters, Mae Belle (Mrs. Clarence) Johnson of North Bend, Helena (Mrs. Earl) Robertson of Fremont and Lolita (Mrs. Harold) Porter of Scribner; seven grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.
She also was preceded in death by a son, a daughter-in-law, a brother, and two sisters.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Hooper.
The Rev. Christopher Lenning will officiate.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at Spear-Johnson Funeral Home in Scribner. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, rural Hooper.
