Mary Margaret Artzer Dennis, 90, Topeka, died Saturday, July 2, 1994, shortly after arrival at a Topeka hospital.
She was born June 5, 1904 in Topeka, the daughter of Albert William and Veronica Catherine Allendorf Artzer, and lived in the 400 block of W. Curtis in North Topeka 89 years.
She had worked at Beatrice Creamery many years. Mrs. Dennis was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Altar Society at the church, Legion of Mary, Daughters of Isabella, Beatrice Creamery Retirement Group, and the Papan's Landing organization.
She was married to Clarence R. "Skinny" Dennis, April 16. 1928 in Topeka, he died June 21, 1985, a son, LeRoy M.. Dennis Sr, died Aug. 16, 1980.
Survivors include three daughters, Bertha Brown and Barbara J. Creek, both in Topeka, and Elizabeth Mack, Mount Vernon, Mo.; a son, Raymond Dennis, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Wilma A. Sams, Topeka, and Dorothy Sanchez, Phoenix; three brothers, Gerald Artzer, Wilbert Artzer and Eugene Artzer, all in Topeka; 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Dennis will lie in state from 1 to 5 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at parker-Price Mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday will be followed by a parish rosary at 6:45 p.m. and an Altar Society rosary at 7:45 p.m.
