Three Others Injured; Car Leaves Road.
Mrs. Veronica Artzer, 57, of 610 North Topeka Avenue, was killed and three other perons injured yesterday morning when a motorcar driven by Rodendo Anguiano, 122 North Jefferson Street, turned over on Highway No. 50-N about two miles west of Osage City.
Anguiano was taking Mrs. Artzer to Hutchinson to visit a son. There were four other persons in the car. Witnesses told officers, Anguiano lost control of the car and it went into a ditch and turned over twice.
Mrs. Artzer suffered a broken neck and died about ten minutes after the accident.
Anguiano, his son, John, and Anthony Martinez, 220 Hancock Street, were brought to St. Francis Hospital. Martinez, suffering a broken hip and possible internal injuries, afterwards was taken to Santa Fe Hospital. Anguiano was severely injured. His son was badly bruised but apparently escaped serious injury.
Mrs. Artzer was born in Topeka, and had been a resident here all of her life.
Surviving are her husband, A.W. Artzer, of the home; three daughters. Mrs. Clarence Dennis, Mrs. H. T. Sams and Mrs. M. Hope, all of Topeka; three sons, Gerald, Eugene and Wilbert Artzer, also of Topka; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Maupin, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Mary Goetz, Hays, and Mrs. Helen McCarter, Topeka; three brothers, Peter Allendorf Chicago, Ill., George and Jacob Allendorf, Topka; and three grandchildren.
The body was taken to Brennan's Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
