The former Rosalie Biel was born May 24, 1906 in Enders, Russia, the daughter of the late Christian and Helen Rusch Biel. The family came to Sheboygan in her youth. She attended St Paul's and Trinity Lutheran Schools. On May 25, 1935, she married Alex Kraus of Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1982.
Rose was employed at the Polar Ware Co. and the former Thonet furniture factory. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, its Leisure League Bible class and was a volunteer at Bethesda Thrift Shop.
Survivors include a sister, Mary (John) Kraus; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Walter (Ella) Schaller, Adolph (Elvera) Kraus, and Frieda Littmann, all of Sheboygan and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Sheboygan Lutheran High School, Lutheran World Relief and Trinity Church Ministerial Fund.
