Patricia Briggs, 70, died on Monday, May 23, 2022 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born on August 17, 1951 at Garden City the daughter of Peter William & Rose Mary (Brungardt) Burgardt. She married Steven W. Briggs on February 1, 1975 at Garden City.

Patricia graduated from Garden City High School and entered the Convent in Great Bend for a short time. She received her Bachelors of Arts from Fort Hays State University and later a degree in Theology through Newman University. She moved back to Garden City and went to work at the Dillons Bakery. Later working at Garst Seed Company and then became the Secretary at Sellers Tractor Company.

Patricia was a member of St Mary Catholic Church where she was active in the Daughters of Isabella and helped on funeral dinners for many years. She also was part of the International Festival and a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed arts, crafts, crossword puzzles and traveling with her family. She had obtained her CDL license so she could drive the truck with her husband. Her biggest joy was being part of her Grandchildren's lives and being part of their activities.

She is survived by her Husband- Steven Briggs, 2 Daughters- Colette Hunt of Wichita (Ryan) and Christy Briggs of Scott City (Jason Majors), Brother- Michael Burgardt of Tacoma, Washington, Sister- Coleen Harrison of Logan, Utah and 4 Grandchildren, Laren & Madelynn Hunt and Aleczander & Kairae Berry. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Brother- David Burgardt and 2 Sisters- Janet Linenberger and Laurie Gerber.

Vigil Service will be at 6:00 PM Thursday and Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM Friday both at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM at Garnand Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to D of I in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
