The crowning social event in the history of Wauneta was the reception and banquet given last evening at the Falls hotel by Mr. and Mrs. George A. Dodd, who returned on the morning train from Omaha, where they were married Tuesday at the Merchant's Hotel.
Following the banquet, a number of toasts were responded to by local speakers, all present agreeing that the future prospects of Mr. and Mrs. Dodd were exceptionally bright and wishing them along, prosperous and happy life.
The bride, Lena M. Yost, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Yost of Culbertson, but has lived in Wauneta since her school days. The groom is present manager of the Empire cattle ranch of Wauneta and is a young man of sterling integrity and business ability.
