Age 81. of Owosso, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2005, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10a.m., Monday, February 28, 2005, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation at Nelson-House Funeral Home will be today from 1 to 8 p.m. A scripture service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Cerveny was born February 25, 1923, in Durand, the daughter of Albert and Frances Lacina, and was a graduate of St. Paul High Schoool.
On July 14, 1945, she married joseph Cerveny. Mrs. Cerveny was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Joseph; daughter Jennifer (Saul) Rodriguez; two sons, Daniel (Judy) Cerveny and Brian (Wendy) Cerveny, all of Owosso; five grandchildren, Amanda (James) Maurer of Owosso, Scott Cerveny of Owosso, Christopher Cerveny of Florida, Gregory Cerveny of Denver, Colorado, and Lisa (Ryan) Spicer of Owosso; great-granddaughter, Lauren Spicer; four sisters, Ann Smalley of Morrice, Blanche Jones of Lansing, Sister Alice Marie OP of Adrian, and Helen Stone of Morrice, brother John Lacina of Owosso; sister-in-law, Doreen Lacina of Ovid.
She was predeceased by: her parents; three sister, Mary Dennis, Francis McKone and Sophie Walser; two brothers, Albert Lacina Jr., and Robert Lacina Sr.
Agnes was a loving and caring wife and mother who instilled a love of God in her daily life. She and Joseph nurtured their business, J.L. Cerveny Jewelers, and as her family arrived she became a devoted mother and homemaker. Agnes enjoyed writing poetry, traveling and was an avid bird watcher.
