Scripture and rosary service will be conducted 4 p.m., Sunday from the Hettinger Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, from the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Rev. James Kane the celebrant.
Mr. Weingardt was born May 3, 1888 in Rothmal, Russia, the son of George and Margaret Applehans Weingardt and in 1910 married Barbara Kaberline in Russia and two years later the couple came to the United States.
A retired carpenter, Mr. Weingardt lived in Sterling for 68 years, save for a short period when he resided in Chicago, Ill., Denver and Garden City, Kan.
Mrs. Weingardt died in 1935, and in 1938 Mr. Weingardt married Margaret Frick. She died July 28, 1971.
Mr. Weingardt was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sevalt of Iliff, Mrs. Madeline McDonald of Denver and Mrs. Catherine Cook of Neola, Utah; five sons, Joe Weingardt and Paul Weingardt, both of Sterling, Martin Weingardt of Greeley, Frank Weingardt of Denver and John Weingardt of Tarzanna, Calif.; three stepson, Joe Frick of Sterling, Bill Frick of Byers and Jake Appelhans of Eastlake; a step-daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor of Broomfield; 41 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 22 step-grandchildren and 32 step-great-grandchildren.
