He is survived by one son, Jim Bruns, and wife Wanda, of St.Clair; by his daughter-in -law, Patricia Bruns of Washington, MO; by four grandchildren, three-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Bruns; by his son Paul J. Bruns; by four brothers, Charles, Arthur, John and by a infant boy Bruns; and by three sisters, Edna Redhage, Ella Hoffman, and May Bruns.
Robert was a Christian and a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. He was also proud to have been a member, for fifty years, of the Euclid Lodge #505, A.F. & A.M. of Crestwood, MO. During his working years, Bob had been employed as an engineer for General Motors in St. Louis, MO. He was a very talented and creative man, and had several inventions created to his name. Bob was never Idle and loved living in rural St. Clair area. He kept busy working on his farm and striving to create items to better live our life. Fishing was a favorite pastime, especially when he went with one of his sons. The love and wonderful times shared with family meant a great deal to him, as it did to them.
A kind and loving father, father-n-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and treasured friend. He will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered by all that knew him.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 8 at Russell at the Russell Coloniel Funeral Home with Masonic service at 7 P.M. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 9, 1994 at Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell with the Reverend Larry Sikes officiating.
The interment was in the Bethel Cemetery, Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepard pantry in St. Clair, MO.
