==========================
Opal LaRue Wright, 94, of Tecumseh, completed her life here on earth, Wed, Sept. 17, 2008 at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh with her family at her bedside. Opal was born to Alfred and Florence (Bomberger) Riensche on Oct. 5, 1913 in the family home at Helena, near Cook, NE. She began high school in Cook and later graduated from Sterling High School with training to be a teacher. She attended one term at Peru State Teacher's College. She taught in several rural schools for four years prior to her marriage to Dean Wright, June 7, 1936. Opal and Dean farmed for 40 years in Johnson and Pawnee Counties before moving to Tecumseh in 1976. Dean continued farming until his death Sept. 27, 1993. After the four children were away from the parental home, Opal worked as a Nurse Aid and a Care Staff Member from 1969 to 1981 in the Maple Grove Home.

Opal's strong Christian faith was evident in her everyday life. She shared her faith as she taught Sunday School and was a church youth group leader. She was an active member and leader of the Vesta, Lewiston, and Tecumseh Methodist Churches. Within the UMW, she held offices at the local and district levels. Opal enjoyed quilting with her church friends.

Opal was fond of learning and teaching. She was a leader of the Lewiston Livewires 4-H Club. She enjoyed growing house plants, especially African violets, and outdoor gardening. Opal loved singing and music and was a self-taught pianist and organist. She was a member of the Booklovers Club. Opal wrote poetry and researched genealogy. She also preserved memories of family events and the bus tours she and Dean enjoyed by creating scrapbooks, complete with pictures, narrative and memorabilia.

When Opal's health declined 3 years ago, she moved to Ridgeview Towers and made that her home until the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dean, son, Darrel, infant sons, Leland Roy and Roy LaVerne, brothers, Arnold, Merle and Vergil Riensche and sister, Frances Grotrian.
