Fairview, IL - Eva Keefauver, 97, of Fairview, Ill., passed away at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Farmington Country Manor, Farmington.

Born in Deerfield Township, Ill., on Sept. 11, 1911, the daughter of Thomas J. and Katie (Putman) Mahr, she married Ora A. Keefauver on Dec. 24, 1932. He died Jan. 7, 2000.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; one son, Charles Keefauver; one great-grandson, William Vandermeer; one great-great-grandson, William Watson Jr.; three brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Esther Keefauver of Fairview; one son, Jimmie (Tomye) Keefauver of Springfield; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.

Eva was known for her homemade doughnuts and cinnamon rolls.

She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Fairview Reformed Church.

She was the head cook for Spoon River Valley School District in the 1950s and worked at Wheats Market in Fairview in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview.
