John D. Fink, 83, retired farmer and stockman, died at his home south of Lovell at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 9, of a heart attack. He had been in ill health from some time.
He was born in Unterwalten, Russia Dec. 14, 1880, the son of (Daniel and Katherine Elizabeth Winterholler Fink). He was married to Emilia Benddewalt Nov. 7, 1910 in Unterwalten. The couple came to Big Horn County in 1912. He was a member of St. Jon's Lutheran church.
Surviving are his widow; eight sons, Carl, Gottlieb, Sol, Daniel, William and Emil, all of Lovell. Alfred of Worland and John of Byron; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Doerr of Lovell and Mrs. Vernon Gernant of Emblem; 30 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev. Floyd Schweiger officiating. Burial was in the Lovell cemetery with Haskell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
