Gottfried Miller Accorded Last Rites

Funeral services for Mr. Gottfried Miller were held Monday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. Floyd Schwieger officiating. Mr. Miller passed away Friday, Sept. 11.

Mrs. Virgil Zwemer played organ music and accompanied a quartet of women singing "The Lord is my Shepherd" and "Jesus Christ, my Sure Defense, " in German.

Pall bearers were Paul Fink, Bill Miller, John Spomer, Dick Harrison, John H. Gams, Robert Schierkolk. Honorary paul beareres wee David Miller and Dwight Panasuk. All are grandsons of the deceased.

Mr. Miller was born June 12, 1881, in Baskagovka, Russia, the son of Andrew and Dorothea Langolf Miller. He was the youngest son in the family of seven children. He married Sophie Fink Oct. 10, 1906.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller came to America in December, 1912. They lived for some time in Chicago, Ill. In 1917 they came to the Big Horn Basin to make their home. Mrs. Miller preceded him in death in November, 1952.

Survivors are two sons, Fred and John of Cowley; six daughters, Mrs. John Fink (Dorothea) of Byron; Mrs. Ben Spomer (Katherine), Mrs. Paul Schierkolk (Emelie), both of Powell; Mrs. Paul Panasuk (Sophie) of Bainville, Mont., Mrs. Herrick Harrison (Rose) of Lovell and Mrs. John Gams (Hermina) of Kane; 50 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Gottfried Miller Dies in Lovell

LOVELL, Wyo - Gottried Miller , 83, Big Horn Basin rancher and farmer since 1917, died Friday at a Lovell hospital of a stroke.

Mr. Miller was born June 12, 1881, at Basgakauka, Russia, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Miller. H married Sophie Rink Oct. 10, 1906 in Russia. He came to the United States Dec. 13, 1912, then settled in the Big Horn Basin in 1917. Mrs. Miller died Nov. 8, 1952 at Lovell.

Mr. Miller was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Lovell.

Surviving are two sons, Fred and John Miller, both of Cowley, six daughters, Mrs. Dorothea Fink of Byron, Mrs. Katherine Spomer and Mrs. Emily Schierkoff, both of Powell, Mrs. Rose Harrison of Lovell, Mrs. Sophie Panasulk of Bainville, Mont., and Mrs. Hermina Gams of Kane; 50 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Floyd Schwieger officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery with Haskell funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
