Marvin Harry Wambolt
Memorial services for Marvin Harry Wambolt, 54, of Parachute were held Nov 23 at the Zion Congregational Church.
Wambolt died Nov 20.
He was born at Gering, Neb., Nov 7, 1928, the son of Henry and Katherine Wambolt. The family moved to Colorado in 1944, where they were engaged in farming.
He attended schools in Platteville and joined the U.S. Army in 1946 and served in the Army Air Corps. He was discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1949.
In 1950 he moved to the western slope, There he married Roberta Benson June 8, 1952. To this union three children were born, Shelley Kammer and Charles, both of Grand Junction and Marjorie Wambolt of Parachute.
While living in Parachute he was engaged in the building/contracting business.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a past master of the Blue Lodge. He was also a member of El Jebel Shrine and Scottish Rite, and American Historical Society of Germans from Russia.
Wambolt is survived by: widow, Roberta; three children, Shelley, Charles, and Marjorie; parents, Henry and Katherine Wambolt; brothers, LaVerne of Denver, Otto of Dillon, and Milton of Cody, Wyo.; sisters, Joyce Zink of Victoria, British Columbia, Beverly Bucci of Brighton, Judy Reale of Denver, and Janice Baker of Castro Valley, Calif., one grandchild, Jason Kammer; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
