Agonia Lorinda Borchardt, daughter of Louis and Anna (Marti) Kissner, was born on August 27, 1901 at Lamberton MN. She attended rural school and later attended nursing school in Wisconsin as a young lady. Agonia worked as a nurse.
On June 20, 1935 Agonia was united in marriage to William Borchardt at Zion Evangelical Church at rural Lamberton. They made their home at Lamberton and in November of 1949 they moved to Maple Ridge Township, rural Stanchfield, where they farmed.
William passed away on January 7, 1983 and Agonia continued to live in Braham. During August of 1992 Agonia entered the Grandview Christian Home where she passed away on Thursday, April 28, 1994, at the age of 92, 8 months, 1 day.
She is survived by one daughter Ruth Engelstad and her husband Myles of Coon Rapids, 2 sons, Ralph and Lana Borchardt of Kankakee, Illinois. Edward and Nelly Borchardt of Albuquerque, New Mexico, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Robert Kissner of Jeffers MN, and Theodore Kissner; 2 sisters, Melba Tlam of Lamberton MN, and Viola Reif of Bismarck ND; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband William and one sister, Luella Matzke.
Agonia was a member of Maple Ridge Evangelical Free Church.
