Melba (Meb) was born in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Louis and Anna (Marti) Kissner. She attended country school in Germantown Township. She married William Peter Tlam 22 March 1952 and they farmed until retiring to Jeffers MN. She moved to Lamberton in 1983. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She is survived by Elvin Tlam, a stepson, and two step-grandchildren Tom Tlam of Washington state, and Cheryl Tlam of Kenya, Africa. She is also survived by her brothers Theodore and Robert, and sister Viola Reif of Bismarck ND.
