Edgar Gottlieb Conrad, 85, of Jasper died Wednesday, January 3, 1990, of viral septicemia at the Pipestone County Medical Center.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 6 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jasper with the Reverend Peter Sestak officiating. Music was provided by Veva Baden, organist and Robert Jones, soloist.

Pallbearers were John Mayes, David Olson, Robert Mayes, Karen Moore, Jeff Conrad, Greg Conrad, Kimberly Dunford, Randy Reed, Michelle Facile, Kristine Scofield, Lorie Kuipers, Todd Paulson, Scott Reed, Terri Paulson, and Matt Reed.

Interment was in the North Eden Cemetery in Ihlen, MN.

Edgar Conrad was born to Gustav J. and Hulda (Weinkauf) Conrad on August 26, 1904, in Grange Township of Pipestone County. He was baptized on October 23, 1904, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, MN, and he was confirmed there on March 28, 1920. He was raised in Holland and later Pipestone where he attended school and grew to manhood. Upon completion of his education, he worked for his brother at Conrad Creamery in Holland for two years before he went into farming.

On June 18, 1930, he was united in marriage to Elsie Heidecker.
Following their marriage, they resided on the family farm in Eden Township of Pipestone County where Ed continued to raise some livestock as a hobby until 1981. In 1980 he built a new home on the family farm. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he had served as an elder; AAL member; and Farm Bureau member.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie, of Jasper; children: Mrs. Nadine
(Frank) Mayes of Diamond Bar, CA; Mrs. Mavis (Charles) Olson of Fargo, N.D.; Daryl Conrad of Jasper; Mrs. Barbara (Robert) Paulson of Canby, MN; Mrs. Joan (Roger) Reed of Pipestone; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Hattie Raschke in 1957, Nora Raschke in 1980, and Elsie Shackelford in 1989; two
brothers: an infant in 1898 and Louie Conrad in 1957.
